About Behavioral Horsemanship

Welcome to Behavioral Horsemanship™! The purpose of the Behavioral Horsemanship™ blog is to share information and insight we have gained from working through challenging behaviors with horses (and handlers). We focus on rehabbing horses with severe behavioral issues ("wild," "dangerous," "problem" horses).  We put all of those adjectives in quotes because most of the horses are not any of those things...they have just been reinforced in all the wrong ways and are using the language mother nature gave them to survive. Behavioral Horsemanship™ is a relational approach to horse training that is rooted in behavioral science. This means we focus on behavior change through connection, and connection happens when horse and handler are mutually noticed, valued and understood.

Behavioral Horsemanship™ is part of C.A.R.E. for Horses Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Visit C.A.R.E. for Horses Foundation to learn more about our mission.
